Hi guys...

Why do some of the Wraiths have masks and wear different clothes? They
also seem, on the whole, to be thicker set than the 'mask-less Wraiths.
I've just watched 'Misbegotten' and it was carried over with the
'Wraiths-turned-human'.

I keep hoping to see the episode (if there is one) that would explain the
reason for the different Wraith types, but I ain't yet.

Thanks for any light shed on this for me...

The masked Wraith are the workers, and the non-masked ones are the
decision makers.

Cheers for that but I was wondering more along the lines of why they're like
that. Is it a 'royalty' type thing, are they like aristocrats and peasants
or is it a money type thing with some been more wealthy than others and can
afford to have servants/guards.

Just wondered if it had been explained anywhere in the storyline?

Anyway, thanks for responding.

From later episodes, it seems that the "soldier" class are only a
little more than wild animals, and are normally controlled by the mental
powers of the "officer" class.

Guess you have not been watching the show very long.
Just watching the show, one can just observe why their society is that way.

Simple answer it costs more money to make up every wraith, so the producers
save costs by making most wraiths wear a mask.

No doubt that's the 'real world' reason for it <g> but has there been any
storyline explanation of the Wraith hierarchy? Or has it not really been
explained in any great length and the viewer left to come up with their own
way of seeing it?

It's not that. I've watched it from the start. For me, it's more of an
'intermittance' thing that's the problem with it, what with work and the TV
schedules. Seen around half of the first 4 seasons and none of them were in
the right order (apart from seeing some eps from S1 first). There's still
plenty of eps I ain't seen yet and none of S5.

Not really. I've just given two possible scenarios, and the actual reason
(if there is an actual reason) could well be neither of those. I don't
know, hence the "Just wondered if it had been explained anywhere in the
storyline?"

No it's not ...not like uesnet is. Wiki doesn't get into a conversation
about things with you like y' can on usenet. Y' might get the answer you're
looking for but that's it, that's all. I asked in here, a SGA NG because y'
never know where y' question might lead y' to in the follow up replies you
get.. It's way more fun than just going to wiki...

I'll never understand how anybody on usenet can say such a thing like that.
Might as well get rid of usenet if it's just answers, and nothing else, that
y' after!

No, this was/is the perfect place to ask what I asked.
